- Laura Viola (Harrison) Rodgers Family Record:
A tape of The Harrison Quartet with, Bill, Leon, Archie and Buster Harrison was played at Frances' funeral. Viola noted that this would have been the last funeral Archie sang at, although it was on tape.
The tape of the quartette was originally recorded in 1970 at Wayne and Viola Rodgers home by Wayne on a reel to reel. In 1994 I had the tapes transfered to cassette and recently had the original cassette transfered to compact disc. What a wonderful thing technology can be. This family music sounds like the day it was recorded almost 40 years ago. Little did Viola know, at the time she made her notes, The Harrison Quartet tape would be played at funerals for years to come. By 2006 the tape had been played for 23 years after Buster's death and 11 years after Archie's. I hope to keep the recordings updated to be heard by generations of great, great, grandchildren.
