1860 Census indicates Patrick and Hannah were living in Warren County, Tennessee with thier first baby Francis who was just one year old. The Census also states Patrick was a farmer and his real estate property was valued at $1,000 and he had $400 in personal property.

Quote by Eugene Wiseman: "Patrick was mean to Hannah. The children ran him off and he started a second family in Missouri. This family then moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri in about 1875. Scott Patrick and Hannah L. Harrison-Hennessee's children were all born in Warren County and all died in Missouri, except Audley who died in Dallas County, Texas.

Patrick and Hannah's family was living in Van Buren County during 1870.

1930 Census, Nancy's son George, indicates his mother was born in Tennessee.

Thomas C. Hennessee is a son of G. C. and Sallie (Smith) Hennessee, of Warren County, Tenn., who emigrated to Wright County, Mo., in 1842, where Thomas was born March 20, 1844. In 1863 the family moved to Arkansas and located in Lawrence County, where the father died in 1880. He served in the Confederate army through the war, and was one of the raiders under Price during that general's daring exploits. The family consisted of four sons and three daughters, who grew to mature years, of whom two brothers and three sisters are yet living. Thomas C. Hennessee remained with his father on the farm until the latter joined the Confederate army, in 1861. In 1862 he enlieted in the Second Missouri Battalion of Cavalry, and served in that company until the close of the war. He was paroled and discharged at [p.794] Shreveport, La, on May 10, 1865, and returned to his home in Lawrence County. During his career in the army Mr. Henuessee has, no doubt, seen about as much fighting, and also done fully as much as any soldier at that pariod. He took part in the fights at Poison Springs, Marks' Mill, Jenkins' Ferry, and a great many skirmishes and fights of lesser note, but equally as hot as their predecessors. When he first joined the army, the battalion of which he was a member was composed of 476 men, and out of that number only seventy-four lived through the horrors of war to be paroled at its close. Mr. Hennessee received a gun-shot wound in one of his limbs, which disabled him for a time; and, on another occasion, was wounded by one of the guards, after being taken a prisoner, while walking over a log to cross a creek. On December 21, 1865, he was married to Miss Levira Bagley, of Arkansas, and then settled to a farm life with his bride. He came on his present place in December, 1870, and has cleared up about 160 acres, and built a fair house, out-buildings and all necessary adjuncts, besides a small orchard of wellselected fruits. He also owns another farm of 187 acres, with about sixty acres cleared up and a comfortable house built upon it, owning altogether some 400 acres of rich bottom land, situated about five miles northwest of Walnut Ridge. Mr. Hennessee was elected justice of Cache Township in 1874, and held the office continuously for twelve years. He is a Democrat in politics, and a strong adherent to the principles and doctrines of his party. Both he and his wife are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and Mr. Hennessee is also a member of the Knights and Ladies of Honor. They have had five children born to them, all living. Their names are Martha, wife of J. S. Childers; Laura, wife of W. G. Duty; Joseph G., John H. and Sallie Anna. Mr. Hennessee started in life, after the war, without a dollar, and has accumulated his fine property by industry, economy and good management, and is now one of Lawrence County's solid men and enterprising citizens.

1880 Morris, Texas County, Missouri has a William Hennessee b abt. 1861 who is 19 years old married to Sureppta? living in the next house from William's parents. It is possible he was married before Della since their first child was not born until 1893.

Did a massive search for 1900 census with William and John and could not find anything. 11/1/06

1910 United States Federal Census Record for Justice Precinct 1, Tarrant Co, Texas shows William was a farmer. It also shows Della had 7 children who were all living and that William and Della had taken in two orphans, Gurtrude Gray age 19 and Bill Gray age 15.

1920 United States Federal Census Record for Frisco Township, McCurtain, Oklahoma shows William was a farmer.

Quote by Eugene Wiseman: Sometime before 1910, Audley and Sarah lived in Texas with Audley's uncle by the last name of Cunningham. There is a photo of this Cunningham from the end of the Civil War with his cousin, Archibald Hugh Hennessee also in the Civil War.

A letter from Dorothy Matkin, of unknown date, indicates Audley was living in Garland, Texas in 1889 and he had a loud voice.

1900 Census Record indicated Audley C and Sarah lived in Fannin County, Texas with 4 of their children.

1910 Census Record indicates A. C. and Sarah lived in Lincoln Township, Comanche, Oklahoma on April 30, 1910. It also states they had seven children living with them George who was 14, Millie who was 12, Jewell who was 9, Elsie who was 7, Iva who was 5, Joe who was 2 and Alfred who was just 6 months. It also shows that Sarah had 9 children and 8 of them were living. The Census states A. C. was a farmer who operated his own farm.

April 12, 1898, Obediah went to Forney, Kafman County, Texas, possibly visiting his father who moved there from Tennessee. He wrote Laura, his wife, a letter from there on this date. Juanita (Clower) Kirby Wells has this original letter.

Deleted: 1890 Census Piney Township, Texas County, Missouri. I don't know where I got this information. I usually don't put in a Census record unless I have it. I could not locate it... In case it comes up again.

1900 Census indicates Obediah was living in Morris Township, Texas County, Missouri with his wife Laura and 4 children Ulysses, Alta, Cassie and Belle, they could all read, however Laura and Alta could not write. It shows Obediah and Ulysses were farmers and they rented their home.

There may have been an illness in Texas County when Obediah passed away because Obediah and Laura had a 6 month old daughter who died just 2 months before Obediah and he was only 38 years old.

After Obediah passed away Laura let a man have hold of her property he sold it and moved her out to Cabool MO. Alph and Liss found a place at Claude called Hat Top Mountain east of Duncan and they sent for her and she came with the younger children with the exception of possibly Alta who married in Bado. 1930 Census indicates George was the head of household, owned his dwelling and it was mortgaged for $3700. It states he was 20 years old Mattie was 15 when they first got married and he was not a veteran.

Quote By Cassie Belle Harrison: "First he went to Aunt Sally because he was not treated well by his step mother and she didn't treat Audley good either. He later lived with a family who was a teacher. One day when I was about 10 the teacher, a man, came up to Misourri on a horse to see George. He hadn't seen him in awhile. George was about 14 when he rigged a pole so it would come down on my head when I would open the door, he was always playing pranks. Soon after that he left home."

Obituary: George W Harrison, 78, retired farmer of 1507 S. Fourth, died at 2:15 a.m. Sunday in a local hospiital after an illness of three weeks. Born Oct. 23, 1872, in Tennessee, he was married to Miss Mattie Woods on May 12, 1892, in Ellis county, Texas. They moved to Lawton from Duncan. Survivors include his wife of the home address, six sons, Ed, Phoenix, Ariz; Dan, 1316 G; Obie, Rt. 2, Lawton; Johnny, of the home address; Charley, 2701 F; and Vollie, 401 Garfield. Three daughters, Mrs. Annie Hennessee, Harlingen, Texas; Mrs. Maggie Yound, Coalinga, Calif; and Mrs. Cassie Bevis, Riverdale, Calif; 35 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Josie Mosiey, Slavin, Texas.

George married Woods, Mattie Roxie on 12 May 1892 in Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas. Frank was a traveling man. He might have died in bonham Texas. At Doyal it was spring and he was the son of a double cousin of Cassie's father. Traveling in Tx in a model T he had car trouble pulled over to work on his car and two drunks hit im and crushed him on the rail on a bridge and Lois had to pick up his head. This was very distressing to Lois she was 8, sisters were 4 and 4 months. This left Pearl with 4 kids during the depression. They went to the father in law William "Billie" Hennessee and he took them under his wing and took care of them. Pearl picked cotton and sewed for her children. Lois willed her things to Marie Jones. The Census also incicates that Uncle Alph was a merchant and opertated a grocery. It shows Uncle Alph was 26 and Nellie was 18.

1920 Census indicates George (Uncle Alph) and Nellie were living in Lawrence Township, Comanche, Oklahoma with their two children Clarence 10 and Zula who was 5 years old. The Census shows Uncle Alph was a mechanic.

Uncle Alph and Aunt Nellie later owned and worked their farm in Faxon, Indian Territory, Oklahoma near the town of Tinney, Comanche County, Oklahoma.

Uncle Alph was also a teacher and taught many of his own nieces and nephews at the one room school, Prairie Lea near Tinney, Comanche County, Oklahoma.

1920 Census Record indicates Ulysses "Liss" and Callie were living in Lawrence Township, Comanche, Oklahoma and had 6 children living with them, Walter "Buster" 12, Albert "Buck" 10, Archie 8, Ethel 6, Ruby 4 and Alma who was just 3. The Census shows they rented their home and Liss was a farmer. Archie was mistakenly listed as a daughter on this Census. Maybe they had so many kids running around they confused the Census taker.

1930 Census Record indicates Ulysses "Liss" and Callie were living in (Hinton) Quanah Township, Comanche, Oklahoma and had all 11 children living with them. Ulysses was 45 years old, Callie 40, Walter "Buster" 24, Albert "Buck" 21, Archie 19, Ethel 16, Ruby 13, Alma 12, Ray 10, Joe "Pod" 8, Charlie Leon 5, Laura Viola 3 and William "Bill" was just 4 months old. The Census much more information: They were renting their home and lived on a farm. Liss and Buck were farmers and Buster was a truck driver. Archie, Ethel, Ruby, Alma, Ray and Pod were in school in 1929. Buck and Buster were married but there is no mention of their wives living in the home. Unlike the 1920 Census...Archie was listed as a son and not a daughter.

As per Carol Denise Foster Land. About thirteen days prior to her death, the decision was made to place her in a nursing home in Comanche, Oklahoma, near her daughter Lorene, her daughter Maybell had been caring for her.
Maybell's husband was being treated for cancer, when she asked her siblings for help in caring for their mother, they went behind her back and placed Alta in the nursing home. Alta was very frail and didn't like the place. She felt as if she had been thrown away, she wouldn't eat or drink. She cried alot and no one could console her. I was fifteen when she died, what is so very sad to me is that Maybell always felt guilty and thought that her mother died angry with her for putting her in the nursing home, and she had nothing to do with the decision.

Obituary: Services for Charles A. Harrison, 60, of 6107 Cherry, who died at 7:45 a.m. today in a local hospital, are pending with Becker Funeral Home. Mr. Harrison was born Aug. 26, 1916 in Doyle. He had lived in the Lawton area since 1918. He was married to Bertha M. Bradley Oct. 9, 1937 in Lawton. He was a city employee and retired in October, 1974 after 20 years with the sanitation department. Survivors include his wife of the home; three daughters; Mrs. Mattie Carder, Lexington Park, Md., Mrs Carolyn Small, San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Linda Jantzen, Ackerly, Tex.; two sons: S. Sgt. Robert W. Harrison, Norton Air Force Base, Calif. and Spec. 5 Jim R. Harrison, Wurtzburg, Germany; three sisters; Mrs. Annie Hennessee, and Mrs. Maggie Young, both of Coalinga, Calif.; and Mrs. Cassie Bevis, Santa Clara, Calif.; two brothers, Vollie Harrison, 1011 G and Johnny Harrison, Coalinga, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.
